this is for my own later reference.
maybe if they got the religious tampons out of their asses, they wouldn’t be so full of shit.In recent weeks, the GOP attack on contraceptives and women’s rights has been returning to the legislative tables, and causing a stir among women’s rights activists and media outlets nationwide.
Now it seems that many within the Republican party who strive to ban contraceptive use also see it as a necessity to prohibit the use of tampons, and seek to ban the sales of these and similar products as soon as possible.
Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) recently put together an all male panel for discussion at the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform hearing on the contraceptive coverage rule and excluded women from the conversation. It seems that he is set to establish a similar group of men to discuss the use of tampons within a woman’s vagina.
It is unnatural for a woman to insert a foreign object into her body for the sake of stopping the menstrual flow. I, as well as several others seek to eliminate the sales of such objects. Women should let nature take care of itself the way that our Almighty Creator intended. To try to manipulate and control such an occurrence goes against God’s plan for women.
Initial drafts of this new legislation have already been brought before Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), and several other GOP Congressmen. It is likely to come to a vote as early as next month. If passed, tampons will no longer be available to sell or purchase, and women will have to find an alternative means to alleviate menstrual excreta.Several Democratic Congresspeople are already petitioning in dissent of this new piece of legislation, and will not give up without a fight to preserve a woman’s right to take care of her own body as she deems most effective.

Predicting the presidency from twitter and facebook
President Barack Obama’s Facebook and Twitter following leaves Republican presidential candidates in the dust.
The president has more than 25 million Facebook Likes and more than 12.5 million Twitter followers.
Since his 2008 campaign for president, Obama has changed the way the public engages with political candidates running for office. He was and still is the social-media-savvy candidate who reaches out to voters on the online platforms where they communicate. President Obama’s social media accounts are primarily run by his campaign staff, but Obama signs the tweets he writes with -BO.
In October 2011, Obama found one more way he could connect with young voters: by joining Tumblr, a blogging site used by tons of young people.
Other candidates have followed Obama’s tech-savvy lead. They have signed up for social media platforms and their staffs post regularly. On average, the 2012 presidential candidates post to their accounts two to five times per day, according to PRMarketing.com, who created the infographic above.
When it comes to followers and Likes, Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich split second place. Romney comes in second with 1.4 million Facebook Likes, while Newt Gingrich has 1.4 million Twitter followers, ranking him the second most followed 2012 election candidate, although many of his followers’ accounts are inactive. A former Gingrich staffer told Gawker that Gingrich purchased Twitter followers on eBay.
Ron Paul is the third most followed candidate with more than 862,000 Facebook Likes and more than 130,000 Twitter followers. Rick Santorum is next to last withnearly 130,000 Twitter followers and more than 138,000 Facebook Likes. Gary Johnson, the libertarian who has been in and out of the race, has the least amount of Facebook Likes and Twitter followers, but he is building his following. He has more than 23,000 Twitter followers and 149,000 Facebook Likes.
Check out the infographic below. Twitter and Facebook numbers have increased for all candidates since the infographic was made.
Followers and likes don’t always translate to endorsements, but do you think a candidate’s following could turn into votes?
In 1979, McDonald’s introduced the Happy Meal.
Sometime after that, it was decided that the Bible teaches that human life begins at conception.
Ask any American evangelical, today, what the Bible says about abortion and they will insist that this is what it says. (Many don’t actually believe this, but they know it is the only answer that won’t get them in trouble.) They’ll be a little fuzzy on where, exactly, the Bible says this, but they’ll insist that it does.
That’s new. If you had asked American evangelicals that same question the year I was born you would not have gotten the same answer.
That year, Christianity Today — edited by Harold Lindsell, champion of “inerrancy” and author of The Battle for the Bible — published a special issue devoted to the topics of contraception and abortion. That issue included many articles that today would get their authors, editors — probably even their readers — fired from almost any evangelical institution. For example, one article by a professor from Dallas Theological Seminary criticized the Roman Catholic position on abortion as unbiblical. Jonathan Dudley quotes from the article in his book Broken Words: The Abuse of Science and Faith in American Politics. Keep in mind that this is from a conservative evangelical seminary professor, writing in Billy Graham’s magazine for editor Harold Lindsell:
God does not regard the fetus as a soul, no matter how far gestation has progressed. The Law plainly exacts: “If a man kills any human life he will be put to death” (Lev. 24:17). But according to Exodus 21:22-24, the destruction of the fetus is not a capital offense. … Clearly, then, in contrast to the mother, the fetus is not reckoned as a soul.Christianity Today would not publish that article in 2012. They might not even let you write that in comments on their website. If you applied for a job in 2012 with Christianity Today or Dallas Theological Seminary and they found out that you had written something like that, ever, you would not be hired.
At some point between 1968 and 2012, the Bible began to say something different. That’s interesting.
It’s par for the course, actually. People have always been reinterpreting the bible to suit their own ends. This is one of the (many) reasons I decided long ago that it’s all bullshit anyway.

If more company leaders followed this example of selflessness instead of being so fucking greedy the economy wouldn’t be so shitty. I mean really, just how much money do you really need to have.
This dude is fucking awesome. \m/

*The only thing I will personally disagree with is that Amy Winehouse was universally revered after her death - I saw plenty of people the internet over claiming that it was her own fault and that the world was much better off without, as one commenter so eloquently put it, “another fucking crackwhore”. I will say though that I’ve never heard such things said about men like Kurt Cobain or Jim Morrison.
(via stfusexists)
i actually don’t remember winehouse being revered at all (dead or alive) and certainly not universally. in fact i would go as far as to say that amy winehouse’s passing was more or less a non-event to the general (american) public, whereas the entire nation is mourning whitney houston. i never got the impression there was a whole lot of public sympathy for winehouse - in fact, i never felt there was any at all; most people thought of her as an alcoholic train-wreck… imo whitney houston was actually more much more valued by the public than amy winehouse.
but yeah the way chris brown has been absolved of all guilt is a fucking joke. if he’d hit taylor swift…oh my fucking god he would probably be literally fed to sharks or some shit. but because it was rhianna - who by the way is at least every bit as beautiful and talented as swift - well…
